Examples of work from Legacy Series

In the Legacy Series (2005) I appropriated images from Jewish artists who have inspired me, inserting myself and personal themes into each print.  This represents research and many years of art practice dealing with issues relating to identifty, idolatry, exile, humor, and freedom.  It’s also, as I get older, about trying to discern my own place in this history.   I’ve collected many visual images to illustrate lectures about art and exile, Jewish art, and personal work.  As these images morphed into this project, I used a variety of software in a playful way, to pay homage to those who have come before, while contemplating their struggles and achievements.
